Terms And Conditions

By booking, purchasing, or paying for any service, the Client confirms they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms in full.

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all services provided by The Welfare Way (“the Company/"Sole Trader”)

Welcome to The Welfare Way. By booking a service, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These policies ensure a safe, supportive, and effective environment for you, your pets, and the wider community.

  1. Training Ethos & Methodology
  • Welfare First: All training, walking, and care services provided by The Welfare Way strictly utilize up-to-date, science-led, positive reinforcement methods.
  • Prohibited Equipment: Under no circumstances will coercive, aversive, or punitive equipment be permitted during sessions or walks. This includes, but is not limited to: prong collars, choke/check chains, slip leads, electronic/shock collars, spray collars, and pet corrector sprays.
  • Pace of the Animal: All services are conducted strictly at the animal’s pace to build confidence and prevent overwhelm.

  1. Health & Veterinary Care
  • Veterinary Surgeons Act (1966): The Welfare Way cannot and will not diagnose medical conditions. If sudden behavioural changes occur, you will be required to consult a veterinary professional to rule out underlying pain or medical issues before training can commence or continue.
  • Vaccinations & Parasite Control: All pets must be up to date with their vaccinations (or hold a valid titer test) and regular flea/tick/worming treatments unless otherwise advised by your veterinarian.
  • Illness: If your pet is unwell, suffering from a contagious illness, or in season, please provide notice as soon as possible to reschedule your session.

  1. Scope of Practice & Referrals
  • Professional Boundaries: As a PACT student working toward full ABTC registration as an Animal Training Instructor, services are focused on foundational learning, life skills, and preventive care.
  • Complex Cases: The Welfare Way does not take on complex behavioural cases, including severe separation anxiety, intense phobias, or established aggression (directed at humans or other animals). If a case falls outside this remit, services will be paused, and you will be respectfully referred back to your veterinary practice or onward to a qualified Clinical Animal Behaviourist (CAB).

  1. Bookings, Payments, & Cancellations
  • Payment: Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your slot for training sessions, walks, or pet-sitting visits.
  • Cancellations by the Client: Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice will be charged at the full rate. Rescheduling requests made prior to the 48-hour window will be accommodated wherever possible.
  • Cancellations by The Welfare Way: In the unlikely event of illness, extreme weather conditions (e.g., extreme heat, ice, storms), or unforeseen emergencies, your session will be cancelled for safety reasons and rescheduled at the earliest mutual convenience or fully refunded.

  1. Safety & Liability
  • Owner Responsibility: The client remains legally responsible for their dog’s behaviour and actions at all times, both during and outside of sessions.
  • Insurance & First Aid: Tayanne Corbani is fully insured for public liability and professional indemnity, and is Canine First Aid Certified. However, The Welfare Way accepts no liability for injury, loss, or damage to persons, property, or animals, unless caused by direct negligence.
  • Children: Children are very welcome and encouraged to participate in training sessions! However, for safety reasons, they must be supervised by an adult at all times.

  1. Specialized Walks & Pet Sitting
  • Home Access: For pet-sitting and dog-walking clients, any keys provided will be kept securely and unidentifiable to your specific address.
  • Multi-Species Care: Accurate, up-to-date husbandry, diet, and handling instructions must be provided for all species (dogs, cats, small furries, birds, reptiles) prior to the first pet-sitting visit.
  • Emergency Care Release: By booking pet sitting or walking, you authorize The Welfare Way to transport your pet to a veterinarian in the event of an emergency. The client agrees to assume full financial responsibility for any veterinary bills incurred.

  1. Privacy & Media Consent
  • Data Protection: Client details are kept strictly confidential and are stored securely in accordance with GDPR. Information will never be shared with third parties without your explicit consent, except for veterinary referrals.
  • Photography/Video: Photos or videos may be taken during sessions to track progress or for use on The Welfare Way’s social media and website. You will be asked to fill out a media consent form prior to our first session; you are under no obligation to consent, and opting out will not affect your services.
